FAQs

Dogs- We are dog friendly throughout (with the exception of our compact king size rooms) please note; when booking to stay with us there is a £25.00 pet stay charge. 

Please let us know if you are planning a visit and would NOT like to be near a table with dogs, we will do our best to accommodate this. 

 

Can you host large tables/parties- We welcome larger groups. The largest single table size is 16, We have a private dining area for up to 30 or we can provide exclusive use of the property for up to 55 guests.

Birthday cakes - We do not provide birthday cakes however you are welcome to order one from https://wilmshurstbakery.co.uk/celebration-cakes/ and have it delivered or bring your own along. 

Please note; we charge cakeage if we serve birthday cake in place of pudding.

 

Corkage- You are welcome to bring your own wine along for a corkage fee. 

 

Wheelchair accessible - Although we have areas of the restaurant that are wheelchair friendly, we do not have a disabled toilet on site. 

 

Allergies/dietary requirements - We do our very best to accommodate all allergies and dietary requirements, please let us know about any allergies or dietary requirements when booking so that we can prepare a menu for you in advance. 

 

When do you change your menu - 

Our À La Carte Menu changes seasonally along with our Tasting Menu but please note that not all dishes advertised on our website will be available at all times.

Our Gastro Pub Lunch Menu can change on a daily basis.

Sunday lunch menu will always include a few roast options with a few options from our a la carte menu. 

 

Car park - We have a small car park to the rear of the property, if this is full please park considerately in the village. 

 

Children & Family - We are family friendly at The Dog. If booking to stay, please check out Room 7; our Family suite. If you have a restaurant reservation please try to let us know in advance if you require a high chair. 

 

Payments - We accept all types of credit & debit card payments as well as cash

 

Cancellation policy - 

Rooms: We will charge for the first night of your stay if cancellation is within 7 days of the date of your visit.

 

Restaurant: For tables of 5 or more we require a card pre-authorisation of £30.00 per person, this will only be charged in the event of full cancellation within 48hrs of your booking or a no show.
