In support of raising funds for motor neurone disease, The Dog at Wingham is proud to offer an original Kevin Jackson painting for sale. This unique piece holds a deep connection to a remarkable fundraising journey undertaken by Nick Apperley and his team, as they continue to inspire others with their strength and determination.
In early 2023, Nick Apperley was diagnosed with motor neurone disease. In June 2024, despite the challenges he faced, Nick and his support team embarked on an incredible 444-mile journey from Ufford in Suffolk to Lands End, using a recumbent cycle.
This monumental effort raised over £47,000 for the charity MIND.
The second leg of this journey covered 67 miles, from Saffron Walden to High Wycombe, taking the team through four counties and several scenic villages. One such village was Furneux Pelham, where they passed a quintessentially English cottage that caught the eye of renowned artist Kevin Jackson. Inspired by this moment, Kevin created an original canvas painting of the cottage, capturing the beauty and spirit of the landscape.
This painting has been generously donated to help raise funds for Nick and his wife, Gilly, to make essential adaptations to their home, ensuring it meets their evolving needs.
